Sound Familiar?

Confidence

Watching your child struggle and skip through their homework in quiet suffering (or sometimes not so quiet...).

Anxiety

Dealing with your child's anxiety induced tantrum after getting a bad grade and the fear of failing their exams.

Understanding

Hearing that your child doesn't understand what they're learning in Maths at school.

Fear

Dealing with the possibility that your child may be separated from their friends if they don't get the grade they need.

Top Marks? In
The Bag!

Top Marks? In The Bag!

No need to wish... This is what will happen:

Fears about results day, gone.
Fights about revising, gone.
Being "bad" at Maths, gone.

The feeling of smashing your exams

Results day was pure joy, seeing the smile on your child's face as they open that envelope and know that they will be able to go where they want, to study the subjects they hoped to, and most importantly they're staying with their friends...
This memory will always stay with you.
Although, you're most grateful for seeing the fear and pain go from their eyes when anything related to school is mentioned. Homework stopped being a struggle, lessons at school started making sense, grades across all subjects started going up, and they had more time for fun with the family (and that time was a lot more enjoyable!). That is what you're truly grateful for.

The feeling of smashing your exams

Your Concerns, Sorted!

Unknown

How do you know what you will get before enrolling? Tutoring can seem like a black box, but no longer. We crack that open for you and explain exactly what you're getting and how!

Value

Cheap tutoring isn't worth it, what you save in cost up-front you end up paying later when more sessions are needed. So if you're going to part with your hard earned money, you'd better see the results.

Quality

Don't take our word for it, or even our qualifications and experience. Make a judgement based on the results & feedback of our previous students.

Time

Most parents have a weekly tutor for their child, but how do you know how long it will take to get to the point where they are no longer needed? Well, we will tell you that!

Don't Take Our Word For It!

Marcus Rowley

Marcus noticed his grades dropping since the change of his Maths teacher last year. After he started year 11 with the same teacher, he knew he needed help to reach his full potential. During his first 6 week program with us Marcus took his grade 6/7 all the way back up to a 9, scoring 100% in our final test. We even found that there were commonly asked questions, such as Histograms, which he hadn't covered in school!
"Beneficial!", "Do it!" - Marcus

Alfie Eichhorn

Alfie was your classic student who was not achieving the marks he could. He hasn't had the support needed to realise his potential and didn't know there was an alternative to typical school Maths. Alfie was aprehensive when his mum mentioned the idea of tutoring but after talking to us, he decided to give it a shot! Since, his attitude towards Maths has completely turned around, from dreading the idea to looking forward to the sessions each week. The change in his confidence, understanding, and general attitude towards Maths been increased further as he came to us at a grade 3/4 and after 6 weeks, bumped that up to a grade 6!
"Honestly, go for it!", "It's the same Maths... just better!" - Alfie

Tshepi Mabindisa

Tshepi is walking proof that anyone can do it. People aren't born either naturally "Mathsy" or not. Like so many others, she was labelled by her school as a "special" case and that she would never make it. She had the desire to improve and came to us with a momentum of positivity & effort, which we then took and pushed it even further. Starting with us at a grade 7 and reaching a grade 9 only 6 weeks later.
"You will definitely want to do more!", "I would do this for all of next year!" - Tshepi

Meet Our Maths Tutors

Gabriella

Picture of Joe giving a thumbs up on a jet ski

BSc Mathematics - University of Leeds
Maths didn't come easily to Gabriella, it was actually one of her weakest subjects at school, as so many students can relate. Prior to starting her Mathematics degree at Leeds, she had to take a foundation year to be up to standard to start her degree. Through sheer perseverance and grit, she has become exactly what she always wanted... the Maths teacher that believes in her students, to help others realise that they can learn anything too. It helps her empathise with students because she remembers how lost and hopeless she felt in their shoes.

Personality, Hobbies & Interests:
Gabriella finds passion in the arts and living life to its fullest.
Her main hobby categories are:
1 - Reading
2 - Music
3 - Travelling
Gabriella loves exploring all types of genres and perspectives. She is an avid drummer and has even written and recorded some of her own music! Gabriella strives to live life as if it were an endless summer, to experience all the world has to offer in terms of culture, cuisines and activities. Asian cuisine is a particular favourite and even once fueled her on a 5km swim to explore a deserted island in Cambodia!

Kevin

Picture of Kevin sat on a camel taking in the moment

BSc Statistics - University College London
Kevin loves the thrill of problem-solving and has done since school, always aiming for the Kangaroo or Olympiad awards at the UKMT Maths Challenges. He thrives on giving students access to that problem-solving skill set of his, taking even the most complex of questions and giving students the framework to break them down into clearly laid out bite-sized manageable chunks!

Personality, Hobbies & Interests:
Besides his academic prowess and general charm, Kevin loves to tackle the complex problems found in making sense of data and helping others achieve that "aha" moment.
His main hobby categories are:
1 - Sports
2 - Bollywood
3 - Travelling
When talking about all manner of sports, Kevin has a particular love of football and the gym. When it comes to Bollywood; movies and Punjabi music are a core staple of Kevin's personality (all recommendations are welcomed!). Kevin is also passionate about exploring new cultures, he loves to travel whenever he gets the chance... even if the only method of transport is a camel 🐫

Joe

MEng Aerospace & Aeronautical Engineering - University of Leeds
After studying Maths, Physics and Music for A-level, Joe then went on to extend his academic prowess by specialising in robotics and rotor dynamics within his already challenging degree!

Personality, Hobbies & Interests:
Joe wasn't born a performer but never let that stop him and loves a physical challenge, even once going wild camping around Spain for an entire week!
His two main hobby categories are:
1 - Squash and Climbing... yet to tackle them both at the same time though 😂
2 - Musical Performance
Joe has played piano since the age of 5 and loves to be a key part in making lasting memories with groups of friends whilst playing for them. That's not where his interest in music stops though as Joe has also taken up DJing over the past 6 years which allows the variety in his taste of music to show through to a wider audience.

Yasmin

Picture of Kevin sat on a camel taking in the moment

BSc Mathematics - University of Exeter
Yasmin has experience as an official examination marker for AQA which gives her excellent insight into the ins and outs of exactly what the other markers are looking for - a pretty handy skill when teaching to pass that exact exam!

Personality, Hobbies & Interests:
Yasmin has the uncommon situation of being a twin. Her cat, Kasper, is keenly aware of this and monitors her at work to make sure she hasn't pulled a fast one switching out like she used to do at school!
Her two main hobby categories are:
1 - Music concerts/festivals
2 - Sports
Where to even start!? Yasmin loves Rugby (having played at Twickenham, live, in front of 65,000 people!), Football (even has created her own fantasy league!), Hockey (which she plays every week), paddle boarding and the MotoGP. Although she's not in it yet herself, she loves a day out riding her motorbike around the Cornish countryside.

Marlon

Picture of Joe giving a thumbs up on a jet ski

BSc Mathematics - University of Bath
Before settling into his area of expertise in Maths, Marlon also dabbled in Aeropspace Engineering at the University of Bristol. He's well acquainted with both cities and courses, so happy to give any insight.

Personality, Hobbies & Interests:
Marlon loves learning and teaching whenever he has the opportunity, which shows in his range of interests and past experiences of not only tutoring but also instructing Taekwondo and Kickboxing.
His main hobby categories are:
1 - Physical Activities
2 - Learning
3 - Food
Staying active is a must for Marlon, and enjoys anything that allows him to do that (from the gym to running, cycling, tennis, volleyball, bouldering etc.). On the more creative side, Marlon enjoys playing the piano, teaching himself to trade and program and loves the occasional opportunity to game too. When it comes to food, he would challenge anyone to find a bigger foodie! Just say the word and you'll have an immediate friend 🍦

Rich

Picture of Kevin sat on a camel taking in the moment

BSc Physics & Astrophysics - University of York
Having worked over a decade in the mainstream schooling system, Rich has a depth of relatability to his students that is hard to come by. Not to mention his vast experience with SEN students. Similarly to most students, his favourite aspect of Maths and Physics are the tangible bits that can be used in the real world to predict what will happen or make something!

Personality, Hobbies & Interests:
Rich's main hobby unfortunately takes him away from his loyal doggo and mischievous cat. Let's just say that he likes to see the bigger picture... to get some perspective on the world...
His two main hobby categories are:
1 - Sky Diving
2 - Flying
Just like most cats, Rich does his best thinking from a high vantage point. He carried out some rather interesting research into which shape of tea bags makes the best cuppa. It might be boring to some, but when the eureka moment comes whilst plummeting 180mph to the earth's surface, it makes the mundane a little more exciting!
